How to open thread WITHOUT PICS ??

Is it possible to open a thread without the attached pictures ???.

Those of us who are stuck with Dial-up find it slow at the best of times, but when a post has heaps of big pics attached, it takes forever to open.

I don't know if any others agree, but I would like to be able to open a post without the pics, then open them later, if I really wanted to.

I've seen some "web accelerators" (download managers ?) advertised, would one of these help speed things up ??.

P.S. Is the new system really any faster than the old one ??. Maybe it's just my imagination, but to me it actually seems slower.

Then into Edit Options

Then Set Display Images to No

Are people still having problems with the amount of time it takes to load a new page? It is taking me over 15 seconds to load each page since the change and that's on ADSL. It's become too time consuming to visit this sight now.

Approx 3 seconds to load a new page using Bigpond ADSL

Just did a trace from the server to you and it is taking approx 242ms
