New Boat Owner - Cant find fish - Help

Hey guys,
Got myself a 4.0 trophy hornet a few weeks ago, been out 3 times now. But not much luck at all. I have been flicking plastics and lures land base for a while now and doing pretty well.. but Im having a hard time finding fish.. in all this water.. now that im not restriced to the bank.. not sure what to look for and where to go. Ive been fishing between jackobswell and goldie
What should i be looking for when i decide to throw a line in?
no doubt there are know good spots in these waters, anyone willing to share any?

I understand that it will probably take me months to find some good locations... but any fishing/boating advise would be welcome

Have you rtied up in Moreton Bay. I will probably be heading out from Cleveland tomorrow going out to Peel Island. Normally get some fish there
