I am going through the process of buying a new boat. I have looked at a couple of Formosa's in the flesh that other fellows own and thought I would make some enquiries. Two emails to the distributor, and not one response. If that is the kind of service a person gets from an enquiry how the hell could anyone expect any sort of after sales service, if you can get anyone in the first place to be interested in making a sale??
When I was in the market for a new boat I looked at the 5.5 Centre Cab they do through Coastal Powerboats. They didn't have one in stock and they arranged for me (same day) to have a look at the factory, where one was being fitted out.
Lets say I was very impressed with the small factory and the attitude of the staff there, they went out of their way to show me eveything from the cutting process to the final fit out and even got the seats and cushions etc out of the storeroom to show me the quality.
If you get one I don't think you will be disappointed. They are a solid boat.
Their attitude was "we are a small factory and don't have time for waranty issues so we build they so we don't have to see them again.
