Best Rig for Mackerel/Kingfish

Hey all

I am going over straddie and last time I was there I got a nice Mackerel and Yellowtail Kingfish off the Jetty at Amity. I was using about a 6/0 hook wtih half a pillie, 30lb leader and smallest sinker.

Is it better to use ganged hooks? Should I try to float the bait?

My plan this time around is going to be ganged hooks with a whole pillie and just float it out in the current...

Any advice would be appreciated.

i dont what straddie is like but im sure you will get something on a floated pillie, i have caught many macs like this before. try tieing a water balloon of float to keep it floating or just an unweighted pillie on gangs should do it. think about using trace as well,

I was thinking of using just two 4/0 hooks ganged...why are ganged hooks always 3 or 4? anyone tried just two?
