There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Yeah murf we use to use 15lb to 20 lb line on our rods on palegics and 80 lb on our handlines on the bottom. It's only in the last couple of years since the larger kg line came in with a smaller diameter that we went to larger outfits. We now use 24 kg rod outfits, And it's only since i bought the cruisecraft that i went and bought a 37 kg bottom bashing outfit , Love it.
But i will say that we always used schider line on all our gear including rods (cept for my 24 kg it's yozuri) and handlines, even my 37 kg rod is fitted with schider. How bout you murf?

Nice mack especially from lisa jane, as I found fish few and far between there when I was living at kinka.

Did a big reply last night but the site crashed and then my pc spat the dummy and I lost the saved reply

Always used 6kg mono for pelagics and caught a few spanyards to 14kg but I went to 10kg to try and get more snapper out of the kelp and reef (10/15m) still kept getting smashed up so have gone to 15kg mono, still can't stop them.

Catching spotties around 5/7kg on 15kg gets a bit boring at times so I might go back to the 8/10kg mono (Trilene) om the TLD15 this season, use 20lb mono on the 6500C4 and it is fun on spotties and small kings.

37kg???? wow how do you hang on? I have troubles with 15kg the body can only take so much.

I have a 50lb Fins braid setup on a TLD15 bottom bouncer for deeper water and I hooked the bottom last weekend and we were anchored with it for 1/2 an hour as I couldn't break it

Funny how when a decent fish grabs the bait it will break like cotton but hook the bottom and yep.

Hope to get the macs in the next few weeks down here. Just finished the live bait tank setup in the new boat and it works a treat.

    Cheers Murf

Don't get too many snags thank god. fish in 60 to 100 foot of water don't seem to get much belly in line but once i hit bottom i pull up 3 foot or so on bootom rigs. Use mackeral sinkers on the bottom so when do get hooked up can flick line which drops the sinker in a motion to pull off most snags but if snagged up on go the gloves and pull like hell lol.
Dad went out today and got some nice trout and spano's , he doesn't take photo's so haven't to show you. I'm going to go out about 330 in morning to see how we fair, then taking wife fishing saturday see how she goes gets bit motion sick

Will tell ya my biceps aches after useing the bigger rod outfit on the bottom thankgod for the rod holders in the right angle goto love them cruisecrafts.
