    Borumba Bass

Got up yo Borumba dam on the weekend. Was greeted by a million water skiers Sat afternoon. I think it must be the only dam with a decent amount of water in it at the moment. Put the boat in anyway and set off for a troll. Got nothing for a couple of hours which wasnt really surprising seeing we were dodging ski boats. But eventually got a hit and landed a small bass, then once the skiers had called it a day got an almighty strike and played my biggest bass to the boat.47cm. I am surprised how hard they hit a lure at that size, much like a jack. Only caught 5 bass for 2 sessions, but might go back when the crowds die down abit. Thanks to the ausfishers who gave me the tips.

Are you sure it only went 47cm?

Good on ya Blooey, nice fish there mate, sorry to hear about all the skiers up there. Borumba's a beautiful dam & fantastic fishery, & its breathtaking early in the morning when the deer come to the waters edge.
    Cheers

Great fish mate, water skiers at borumba are bearable considering most don't/can't venture up into the arms of the lake. I remember how bad it was before the dam level was raised, you couldn't escape these pests.

Not enough time in the day, to many spots to fish!

It is easy on the eye in the morning and the deer are something different. So the bass in there dont get into the 50's up there?

In all my visits there (about a few dozen) I haven't seen anything near 50cm, most around 35-40cm.

Good to see you caught a couple of fish. I was there on the weekend myself and only got one hit, and didn't land it in the boat.
I am a complete novice at freswater fishing, so I will keep on persisting. I will venture back after all the holidays have finished and not so many skiers around

Sounds like i might have gotten a bit lucky without realizing. There is still one in there that big roydsy because he swam away strongly when i put him back in. Maybe a little wiser though.
