    North Stradbroke boat ramp?

    Howdy Ausfishers.
Heading over to North Stradbroke over the australia day weekend, and was considering whether or not it was worth dragging the boat over (Haines Signature 542F). Are there (m)any boat ramps over on straddie? Is it worth taking the boat or is beach fishing the best option?

    Cheers!

definately worth taking the boat, can't advise on what the weather will be like though.
There is a good ramp at the One Mile, Dunwich, not a lot of parking tho.
Amity Pt has a more rustic approach to boat ramps, there are 5 ramps which can be used depending on tides and/or wind conditions. 2 are shallow, and you'd probably need a bit of water (half tide?) to launch to your boat. 2 are straight out into the channel, and they may need some water, or the trailer drops off the end. 1 ramp is also used by the Moreton barge and is my preferred ramp, tho there are lots of rocks at the bottom.
Launching at Amity is not always a straight forward process as at more conventional ramps. But you are closer to the action, and you get to learn how to launch in sometimes less than ideal conditions.

    regards

Definitely worth taking the boat as it gives you the flexibility to fish the Rainbow Channel if the beaches are blown out. I wish I'd taken my boat over last October, as the SE winds were bad, but it was quite sheltered up to 500metres out from Amity, which is way far enough to get into some great action.
