    Hi all Some 25 years ago I had a H28 yacht with 2 & 4 Meg pluss 27 meg Raidos , Just wondering are these radio still used or have they been replaced by more modern one's .

    well i know 27meg is still in use plenty by alot of boats

    2 & 4 meg are classed as MF (medium frequency) 6mhz and over is HF (high frequency)
    yes, very much still in use, used mainly on larger commercial vessels or/and on ocean voyages, for longer range communication.

    Yep, my mistake, only 2 meg is referred to as MF.

    MF/HF radio installations on commercial vessels operate on frequencies
    1605 kHz to 27500 kHz.
