what kind of boat should i get???

    hey ausfishers
i am going to get a boat soon but its only gonna be a starter boat, does anyone have any info of what kind of boat i should start off with, im not sure if theres any boats under $300 but please if u can recommend any boats over $300 -$600. it would be muchly appreciated.im going to be doing mostly just estuary fishing in sand flats and creeks, since i have been wanting to go to other spots and not just landbased spots.

Cam, you might get a canoe or kayak for 300.00. I wouldn't trust the motor on any $300.00 boat!

You don't get much around that price tag and what you do get will not be reliable here is an example of a boat in the price tag on ebay. Now that is an old motor.

with that kind of money you be lucky to pick much up
but keep your eyes open there are boats around
    i picked up a 13'tinnie for a $100 rough but floats
look at people selling tenders if you going to be in calm waters
getting it to the water (trailer) is probabbly the biggest prob if you need to tow
motors arent to bad i dont know the area your talking about but a 2/3hp on somthing like a 10' punt would get you around ok
all the best cammy with this project

gone_fishing yes i will keep my eyes open, the area is brisbane- the pine river and around shorncliffe, i will keep the project goin!!

    G'day
scour the trading post, and increase your budget to $1000, as it will give you a small rig with respectable outboard and that much newer.

Hmmmmmmmm makes my motor look brand new! lol

    Ebay eh??

Cammy, have a look at this link. It's was my first tinny (quite a few years ago now) and until recently my crabbing/estuary boat.

I'm negotiable within reason (NOT $300 ). Let me know what you think or come around and have a look at it.

    Cheers,
    Herby
