2001 Trout Season Opens

I find it rediculous, to say the least, why any responsible government would have a closed season to protect an introduced fish, or any animal for that matter. These fish can & do directly compete with natives for food & space.
Little wonder the Trout Cod, MacQuarie Perch & Blackfish are so scarce or non-existent in some waters.
Why not have a carp or feral cat season too, same difference. >

Any like to explain the backward thinking of this? ???
