The time thing is a problem...the bite usaul gets a bit queit by the time u actually get fishing...there are ways of over coming the time things though but shhhhh...its a bit naughty...the things fishing does to good people
But usual there are still a fair few fish to be caught on surface. . .some days you can get them on surface all day long...try deeper banks when the sun gets up a bit.
