Low Water Levels in QLD
Hello all - I'm quite new to QLD and from Tas originally - something that seems to happen up here that does not happen back home is the closure to fishing on some dams when water levels get really low. I have heard of ppl in the Hinze, Leslie etc getting heaps and heaps of fish - more than likely killing 75% of these fish, in water levels that really don't give the fish much of a chance - do they ? Back in Tas if a dam / lake was considered to be below 30% then some times they would close to fishing to keep stocks up. Regardless of how you think you release fish, some will die...Does QLD have anything like this closure scheme - surely if the water levels get lower then, some ppl will just go out and pick the fish out of Leslie by hand ? This is quite a concerning issue to me - anyone have any thoughts ? Cheers Si.
