No permit other than your SIP. However, having said that our beloved council is/has installed car park type boomgates down near the road into the camp area which will relieve you of $2 >

Good or bad? ??? I often just get dropped off and then picked up later that day...this means $4 most weekends and also many weekdays...pretty pricey over a period of time...

They better use the money gained for the right things...namely better lauching area at Cooby...a truck load or two of road base isn't the answer...I find it hard to justify paying to use a place when the money doesnt even go back into that same place...pretty silly if you ask me

i haven't seen any council plans or press releases dealing with the issue of where the money goes...but lets hope they get it right...

    Just my opinion

    Gidday,
Lachie1 i will bet you to that they dont put the money back into the places. What a brainless idea to do that i suppose they have got the poops that they are not getting the money directly so they penalise us . How else are they going to pay for the opening of those stupid leaning pillars in the main street. Look like they are going to fall over.

    Re: BOATING PERMIT FOR CRESSBROOK

    Guys
Fee of $2 per vehicle at Cressbrook will start from 1/7/03. The boom gate will be based just before the turn off to the camping area so you don't have to pay for each trip from camping area to boat ramp. Cris J - it's only about 200m walk back to the proposed boom gate and that wouldn't worry a young fella like you.

I support the $2 per vehicle to Cressbrook and Cooby. Now with the SIP, none of the SIP $'s go back to TCC, so any $'s towards the maintainence of the fantastic facilities at Cressbrook is welcomed. I still rate Cressbrook as one of the premier camping spots in Qld and that was proved last weekend, when in freezing conditions up to 100 campers were there on Sat night.

I saw rangers there, not checking SIPS etc but cleaning BBQ's and Toilets - better image than harrasing fisherman for TCC permits.

As for the boat ramps - they are pretty good but any dam hitting the 50% level mark, will put pressure on boat ramps. Most boats didn't have a great deal of problems last weekend.

Fishing - I'll put my dismal report in another post.

    Keep Fishing

    Hi fellas

I agree totally sav but only if you're dead set correct on the matter.

The facilities at Cressbrook are great and if the boom gate money goes towards helping maintain those facilities well it's good.

Lets just hope we're proved right

    Re: BOATING PERMIT FOR CRESSBROOK

    G'Day all

I think the problem with the boom gates placement is every time a camper wishes to go say to Crows Nest for ice/supplies they will have to pay again to get back in. Access to the boat ramp for campers isn't such a problem as you can leave your boat in overnight.
This means a non fisher having a weeks quite camping and bushwalking could get slugged out of business. You already pay to camp, the fee should ,if it must be paid, be for use of the day picnic and boat launching area.
