fishing inland rivers
Hi
Have only ever fished saltwater estuaries and beaches. Am soon taking a week off and want to try camping and fishing the banks of the Dumaresq River and then head up to the Dawson River. I understand my best bet is to catch some shrimp with an opera house type net which i do have and use them. But i'd love to know about any other baits and lures as well. Don't wanna spend too much money cause if i find it boring then i probably won't go back much. Can i use my saltwater lures ? Am told i'll catch yellobellys, catfish and saratoga.
looking forward to your suggestions
cheers

Yeah use shrimps as bait as i reckon they are the gun bait Also take a few cod lines and set them as you may get a nice cod use little fish or yabbies for them i reckon. You can use your saltwater gear no worries just try not to use any line over 15lb on a reel but can go way heavier on a set line. Don't expect the action to be fast paced as it usually isn't but you should get a few nice fish.
Good luck, Lachie
