    my first yella

g day everyone. Just like to tell you all i caught my first yellow belly. Its was caught in the peel river using worms and 15 lb line. It only took 30 minutes till i was fighting with it. It was around 40cm.
I cant wait to back to the same spot and maybe catch a bigger one.

Good on ya Youngfisher, you won't forget that one in a hurry. As Caveman said, wait until you catch one on a lure. Try lighter line and realy have fun. I've had eggspurts claim yellas are not good fighters. Neither are barra on dragline cable.

Cool, it never ceases to amaze me that as fished as that spot is that it still produces...

I actually live about 1/2 a km north of Haemskerks Nursery on the river, I went and flicked a spinnerbait about on Sat arvo but there was way too much algae in the water and it kept weeding up. I need to drop a worm I think...
