    Gday fisheasy

Did you happen to see the win news tonight. Carl Jocumsen, while shooting Thursday nights fishing segment with Peter Taylor, hooked and boated a cod(mary river variety) of approx 20kg and 1meter+.The fish was in good nick by the look and swam away well.

Looking at what I wrote, perhaps this also says something about the fishing out there; a fish caught and it makes the news

    Thanks Kev,
We were out there this time last year and the fishing was fantastic on the fringes of the dam.
Ended up doing the saltwater thing instead - flatties down the pin!!
Don't get Win T.V. in Brissy so didn't see the cod. Nice fish though.

Picture of Carl's Mary River Cod in today Toowoomba Cronical. He caught in on a spinner bait. The fish nearly looks as big as Carl.
Peter Taylors report today on Cressbrook reads:
"Plenty of good size bass landed casting spinnerbaits to the edges and slow retrieving back to the boat. Good numbers of quality bass taken in the deeper water (80ft) by local angler Steve B using soft plastics. A reminder that Cressbrook Dam is now operating under the summer times, 6am to 8pm"
    Hope that helps Fisheasy.

    Re: Cressbrook Dam

G'day all, Cressbrook's been a little sporadic lately and at times difficult to fish with the windy days. Early mornings around the edges have been Ok with suspending lures, rattling spot styles and soft plastics as well as spinnerbaits. Fly fishing is productive with top water stuff too. Later in the day (about 8.30 ish onwards, the bass hang deeper in smallish schools and feed up occassionally into the shallows. deep fly working fine as are soft plastics dropped in front of their noses and "rattled". Cressbrook creeks been the go when looking for the smaller schools, but the edges of the basin are also worth a look early and late.

    Cheers all,
    "Harry"

Thanks for the replies. Ended up going to the salt instead! When I visit my relatives in Crows Nest [smiley=cowboy.gif] I'll tow the boat up and have a go.
