    Lure of Choice

    Guys and Gals,

Courtesy of an unfortunate incident early this year, I lost two tackle box trays of fresh water lures. (ooohhh that hurts).

I've since bought a few replacements, but a recent purchase of an electric is about to see me get out there and amongst it again.

I'm interested in deep divers in particular - so here's your chance - Give me your top three favourite freshwater lures.

    I want make/model/colour.

    eg. oargee/pee wee/black white.

We all have them so let's have the list and then the debate so I can spend my hundreds of buckeroos from insurance.

    O.k. Brett, 3 now and a few more at the Bjelke M & G.

Blitz Baga - Black with thin gold stripes, or any if you can find them (and grab a couple for me when you do )

    Jaysee Patriot 65 - Gold /Black

Halco Polterguist (the one that dives 3 - 5 m) - predominant color is Purple. (k/mart sell them for about $12.00)

Hot Lips - Half ounce- Purple Tiger

I know that's four but I couldn't stop at three
Caught fish on all these plus others at BP Dam.

For the Bass I like the CD 18's from Rapala. Maybe some " blue pillies " from Lively Lures, but when times are tough, go for " bluey's all time favourite expanding bait lures ".

    Phil - you're a wally

There seems to be a recurring theme here.

    Blitzbaga, blitzbaga, blitzbaga.

I'll have to send out the scouts for locations where I can buy them.

So at this stage it looks like
    Blitzbaga
    Ridgeback
    Poltergeist
Hot Lips (I had some of these in the tackle box that floated away)
    Strikezone critter (these too)

I think and oar gee pee wee will find it's way in the box as well - And a mini dam buster has always been one of my favourites.

Those Strike Zones are great, the Phyco,Cicada and Critter in purple and silver get a freakish amount of Bass. The Cicada in Yellow and Black is good too.The Tilsan Bass in Natural is another good alround lure. Matt Q

    Re: Lure of Choice

    Craig,

I had a green/yellow mini dam buster that accounted for probably 25% of all freshwater fish I've ever caught.

It actually more teeth marks and scratches in it than I care to remember and was actually looking quite ugly but still caught fish. (Sadly it floated away).

I've got a green/yellow replacement at the moment but it's not a min-dam buster and for the life of me I can't remember its name. I'll have a look tonight and get back to you.

I had a strikezone critter in pink and purple and on it's only run in Hinze got 6 for the 8 bass for that day. The other two went to two separate lures. It was on fire and I'll be getting a replacement for sure.

Still haven't found any blitz baggas yet but I'm looking
