Hi Gordy,
I had heard that you had to join a club to fish from a boat in North Pine, how much is this permit and can you tell me what the limitations are pls?
Restricted to only one arm of the lake, no access to main basin.Originally Posted by FlyNoob

A great fishery & well worth entering the ballot.

Um, thanks, I was only thinking of taking my canoe up there, how do I get more specific information and possibly sign up for this "Ballot"?
It only goes to a ballot if they get more than 300 applications, and this has not happened over the last couple of years. The cost is $110.00 and is well worth it. The rain we have just had should have raised the dam level and improve the fishing.
Thanks Gordon,
Do I have to go to Sandgate?
I believe that you can you can also get them from The Tackle Shop at Carseldine.

Ok, that would be a lot better for me than Sandgate, cheers.
North Pine is a great winter fishery, could do with a few more fish and a few less meatos,,,,,,,alot like Wivenhoe but smaller and easy to access (with permit).Ill be getting mine this year again prob, only 10min away from me door. MQ PS Heres a PB Bass, only 1.8cm of a 60........
Yep, thats the place, guys down south must drool about this stuff, I was just blown away by how healthy and fat the Bass are up there, also spotted quite a few Lung Fish up there on a trip in summer, the water was pretty low and saw 4 breaches one of which was very close and the biggest fattest mumma lung fish I have ever seen! I 'll never forget it! Niether will my mate who could have nerely reached out and touched it. wasnt as jumping as in winter, but we still managed to hook up a few nice Bass on bibs, huge fun, cant wait to do it again
