6 hp limit at Lenthalls lifted???

Heard the 6 hp limit has been lifted at Lenthalls but 4 knot speed limit is still applicable. Can anyone confirm this ???

    Dasher,
Talking with Paul Dolan recently, he mentioned a meeting with council about the Hp restrictions. I havent heard any outcomes but will see what I can find out.
    Hope you are correct.

I await the outcome with baited breath.
Have heard of people that just totaly ignore both rules.
Is there any policing of the the limits and by who ??
Who enforces the penalties ?? Would they stand up in a court ??
    Cheers

Similar deal with cressbrook. 8 knot max my ass. I've seen people go flat out on that dam. If the 6hp limit is lifted i might give it a visit someday.

Hi guys,to my knowledge the 6hp limit still stands as the stocking group has not been informed to any rule changes from the water board. Most boats that go there don't have 6hp but if you do go there just go slow as there is plenty of nasties just below the surface especally when its full like now.Nobody really polices it but in saying that they could turn up at anytime, the fisheries boys have been going out there regularly and thats great cause there are a few that go and take more than there limit and think they don't need a permit cause it's a bit isolated, they will be caught!!.If you go there just do the 4-6knots and there wont be any problems,If people start flying around the dam they will come down on it and rightly so, it's not a big dam and it's not nesessary to go fast on Lenthalls and you can catch good bass in sight of the ramp.Paul

Thanks fellahs, checked with Wide Bay Water again and they are unaware of any change. Paul I think you're right re slow as you go. A few surprises in there for the unwary. And I reckon common sense would prevail if you were being sensible. As a foot note Wide Bay Water still cannot give me a definative answer re over hp donk (unused) with a 6 aux.

I think if you go there offpeak and behave you shouldn't have a problem.

Dasher,I was there last Sat but didn't notice the signs and don't even look at them anymore.I got some great fish on the Terminator pitchin tubes and the 5'' soft jerkbaits on the surface then subsurface and I do well on Terminator s/baits as well as the new one from TT lures the vortex.Paul
