    G'Day Jewies.

Stump Jumpers, Oar Gees and Codger lures are my favourites, particularly in black & white or purple.
If you are considering bait fishing, and you can't get your hands on Bardis Grubs, then consider this ...
A fairly long rod (about 7 foot), and a small running sinker. Using a yabby for bait, crush its carapace just before you drop him in the water. Now lower this enticing little snack around some timber or other suitable structure, and gently jig up and down. This has worked well for me in the past, on both Murray Cod and Yellas. Good luck with your trip to Adelaide, mate!

    Jewies,
You will catch a few cod on large and XXL lures but you will catch a lot more cod and a bycatch of yellas on small to medium size lures 50mm to 90 mm long especialy in hard fished area. Go for the bargin bin and try and get something that swims strong at a slow retreive.
Just remember that most Cod are less than 8 KG and can be landed fast on light line.

    Best of luck McCod.

Hi Jewies, i haven't been east of wentworth but for bank fishing along Darling River down to Wentworth the squashed yabbie good for y b's & cod. try tail hooked yabby dangling in water say 10ft out from bank with line hanging over end of very thin branch twig {twig breaks on hit}.
Lures older stlyle Berkley blueish/very slightly silver shallow diver.
good cod fishing if shower of rain about especially if overnight.
Berkleys sell about $12 to $15 dollars down here.
Line my preference 25 to 30 lb sometimes with 15 inch 50lb line trace no special brand just new or good condition.
all the best from Moree Mauler 8)
