Fishman,
Here's a sure fire method for identifying the sex of fish.
1. Take a map of the river or lake you are fishing in, about 10m back from the edge of the water and put the fish you want to identify on the map.
2. Then put another fish on the ground 11m away from the water.
3. If the fish on the map looks at it and then flips off toward the water, its a male.
4. If the fish flips off the map away from the water, it is going over to the other fish to ask directions, and therefore a female.
Cheers
Jeff
PS some one who knows will help, hopefully.
I'm not overly familiar with reddies, suffice to say I've caught a few.
I'll take a punt that the sexing needs to be done internally. Use a catheter up the clacker. Is the case with alot of finfish, some fish can only be picked via surgery eg saratoga.

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone knows any locations around the GC that i might be able to land a Redfin. Don't want any Spot X ( unless you wnat to give them out!!! LOL) but just a general pointer.
Thanks if you can help.
Hopefully, there are none in SEQ. You'll have to go south to find them.
Dale
I fish because the little voices in my head tell me to
The furthest north that redfin are found (that I know of) is around Deepwater NSW.

They are at Pindari which might be just a tad further north.
