    electric outboard

    ??? looking at getting a freshwater electric outboard and wondering what i should look for(never used one and none of my mates have either) i got a 12ft tinnie but its pretty heavy and want to use it for places like hinze dam!

    I can reccommend a Minn Kota Riptide 55lb (12 volt) or 65lb (24 volt). Can get them in either bow mount or transom mount. They're the best going IMHO.

    If you can afford it, I'd recommend a bow mount. Most of us try a transom mount first up, then turn it around and put it on the bow, then go and buy a bow mount. Save yourself the money and work and go straight to a Riptide Autopilot in 55lb (12 Volt) or 65lb (24 volt)

    we use a mates one,,is an endura 45lb thrust i think from memory,,was transom mount,,,now sits up front,,use it on his 14 footer and other mates 12 footer,,,works a treat...
