    Awonga Dam

Hi everyone. first time on the forum.

I would like to know of anyone who is currently doing charters on Awonga Dam. My father used to go with a young bloke who has since given it away when the water level rose.

I have made contact with Paul Dolan but he will only do a 2 day charter due to the distance he has to travel. I totally understand but would like to find a local who can do a 1 day charter, if possible.

    Any ideas anyone.

Have a look at www.stillwatercharters.com.au as Brett Jones might guide at Awoonga as well as Monduran

    Thanks for the suggestion!

I have actually looked up Brett already and I am now looking to go to Lake Mondura in early January. Has anyone chartered with Brett?

Couple of biggies caught around the 28kg and 29kg mark in the last fortnight. They did it tough in the days leading up to the catches which is typical of the barra dams........

    Hi there

am planing on a trip to Awoonga just before Xmas for barra. Any advise on lures, line, rods, techique ie trolling or casting and a bit of a mud map would be most welcome and appreciated.
Am experienced on yellowbelly, murray cod and bass but have a lot to learn on barra.
    Hope you can help

that'll be the lead up to the full moon. My advice would be to troll 2-5 m depth on the rising moon at night, dead slow. That's what we found effective in November.

Mate, Take a couple of ya deep diving cod lures an try them.I caughr a 110cm at prossy on a Downunder boomerang just on dark.I think anything deep, with a good action could get ya results.
We also caught fish on 5 and 8 m Halcos\
    Good Luck!!!!!
PS could pay ya to beef up the trebbles to 6X
