Going Camping - Which Dam?
Hi everyone,
I'm going camping around my local area (Sunshine Coast and Hinterland).
I want to go to a spot with; Camp grounds, Barra Fishing, Walking tracks, Creeks (able to paddle along), Cliffs.
Where should I go?? What techniques -trolling, lures, livies- work well for the Barra in your chosen waterway?
Is fishing allowed in Baroon Pocket Dam and Obi Obi Creek?

baroon pocket is stocked with bass but i'm not sure if you can put a boat in it. The noosa river does have barra in it cept you don't have a realistic chance of catching one over a weekend. Your better off just chasing bass.

You can fish from the rock wall at baroon pocket dam and the picnic area but im not sure about boating. Obi obi creek is right near the picnic area and is chockers with bass, eel tailed catfish and mary river cod, but it is highly illegal to fish there...

Just a short note about Baroon Pocket, which no-one else has mentioned, you are not allowed to use lead sinkers or jig heads. I do believe that Electric powered craft are allowed, but there is a limited number allowed at any one time.

barron pocket is available to elec boats, and canoes (but they dont let you put a elec motor on canoe). A maximum of 10 boats on the water at once.
No lead sinkers and the like as previously mentioned and I believe that you can only catch a fish if you are facing west and wearing a red shirt with yellow sleeves...ok...maybe thats a fib but with all the other restrictions it wouldnt suprise me!
