I am not sure what improvements are on the go
But
i do know that they are upgrading tha facilities at the dam,
camping ground, picnic area etc.
This is the work that has closed the damn at the moment
I also know that they are going to raise the level of the wall, but i am unsure if that is being done at the same time. There have been some concerns from the native owners of the area that the increased wall height will flood a sacred site and i don't know if that issue has been reslolved.
When I left Hervey Bay, early Jan 05 they were still in consultation with the leders about just where the increased water level would actually finnish

I see in today's Courier Mail that they are calling for expressions of interest to raise the height of the dam. Does this mean another closure down the track?
The upgrades are to the facillities, a new boat ramp and a camping area. I couldn't imagine the raising of the wall to cause a closure, so the original dates will be correct.
