Try not to put fish on hot dry rocks before release though. It really harms them. A careful "cradleing" hold with wet hands is much better for Cod destined for elease.
Yeah it's abit hard when you're by yourself The others were on the other side of the river dealing another cod which hooked up the same time, and neither felt like an early morning swim! Fortunately the rocks were still fairly cool at that stage. Great place and looking forward to another Cod adventure. One can only hope that these pristine places stay that way.
