    hi cloud9,
try rigging a slider grub on a worm hook, no weight, rig it weedless, throw as far as you can and a steady wind back to the boat, works a treat over the weed beds at maroon and clarie hall...

I rec'n it would be worth trying Terminator snap backs as they have a possitive bouancy! I use em unweighted over sand flats for flatties. Worth a go

    Cloud 9,

As Zedjack said the Terminator snap back 3" grubs would be great with their bouyancy properties and toughness to tear. they are extremly stretchy and last a long time. Just dont store them with your other plastics or they can melt.

Another platic is the river 2 sea Jiggy cicada shown below. I have had success with them on the brissy river. They are a surface paddler not unlike the predetek spaddler in hardbody form. The only down size is the bad hook up rate that i have encounted. In 15 or so hits you will be lucky to get 2 hookups.
In the pic you can see that I have attatched a small treble stinger hook and used a bead to stop it moving around. It has increased hookup rates but due to the extra weight causes the lure to sink
I have even tried adding polystyrine foam into the few hole on the underbelly of the lure which has helped but I still cannot get the lure to float on the surface all the time. Generally when you cast the lure out it will sink until it is brought to the surface. Once on the surface it generally stays ontop with a steady retrieve. It will be a good lure to try at Maroon. I will have to go and try them next time on maroon on dusk.

Cloud_9,the 4'' Pitchin Tubes and 4'' and 5'' soft Jerkbaits by Terminator are the best I've ever used both surface and sub-surface in both fresh and saltwater. They can be rigged completly weedless and you can throw them in any cover and get them out, trouble is when ya go in so deep if ya hookup the fun begins .Pitchin tubes work best with a 5/0 worm hook and the 5'' jeakbaits with 4/0 and the 4'' with 2/0.The 2'' grub floats too and will be deadly on bream.Give 'em a go ya won't be disappointed. Here's a pic of a Lenthalls bass on the blue glimmer with black fleck tube.Regards Paul
