maroon today 9th

used the new jackall today for 16 Bass from 7am till 2pm
fished it with overkill line and leader.
20lb whiplash braid and 50lb jinki leader.
on my trion bait caster.

what line and leader do some of you fellers use?

Nice Bass!! Sounds like you had a great day!
On my Shimano Scorpion1000 (japan model curado) baitcater I have 12lb fireline and about a 1.5m of 12 sufix mono leader. On my Shimano sahara 2500 spin reel I have 4lb and a 8lb spool depending on what i am targeting and how sporting I feel.

You are certainly using some heavy line for the bass, more setup really for barra than bass. You will be able to cast further using the lighter line. I know how you feel when using the jackalls, #praying that you dont get snagged up on timber etc. i think I will swim for my jackalls if i do snag up good, thats for sure

Did you travel a bit further up the Dam to the weedbeds etc. What did you catch the Bass on, mainly the jackalls or did you use plastics as well?? I am going to Maroon tomorrow afternoon for some more bass. Would of been good to catch up. If there are any other ausfish members out there going to maroon come and say G'day to the guy in the yellow/orange kayak

gaday arron.
i got 4 down near the trees,there's a hole in the weed bed from the trees towards the ramp,
the rest all came from the other side of the dam, pintro point. where they launch their boats. edge of the weeds from there around to the area just past the island, if you are going anti clockwise.
have been told that you need to fish the side of the dam that the wind is coming from for the best results.
was a good day.
