    Help out a freshwater newbie!

Im going to a 2000 acre property on the weekend in NSW near Queanbeyan, on which there are a few large damn stocked with fish. My uncle who runs the property, went fishing recently (for the first time in his life) and caught several Kg+ fish

Ive NEVER fished fresh water before, and i need some advice.

I think the species they have are golden perch and rainbow trout. possibly others as well, ill confirm the species tomorow

help? i have the basic sydney boy fishing rods

I think you best bet would be to get the details from your uncle as he seems to have done quite well. Best of Luck!

Your basic gear will be fine. Just dig yourself a bunch of earth worms and fish with them. No point going overboard(excuse the pun) with anything special for just a weekend on the farm.

yeh if you want some lures try buying some small shad type lures that dive to a foot or two
something like the attack lure or orgee lil ripper and maybe a shallow diveing minn min by preditek
best coulors would be either something like a brown trout or ranbow trout coulor
