    Yabbies?

I bought 4 yabby nets for a trip up to Lake Cressbrook a few months ago but unfornately I didn't get any. I put some in a creek near my house in the Redlands though didn't get any. Anyone have any tips on where to go, what bait etc?

    Re: Yabbies?

Find someone or somewher with a small farm dam or creek preferrably with some water reeds growing on the edge. What we do is put the trap out in front of the reeds. You'll wana wait til it warms up a little yet because they are generally hard to get in cold water as they burrow into the mud. The best bait for in the traps is probably meat. Something that is bloody and pollutant to yabbies, even dog biscuits. The yabbies don't actually eat the bait but try and remove it. I say to put the trap out front of reeds because that is generally where the young yabbies live and hide, and they are the one's you want for bait. If that fails there are no yabbies where your looking.

    Good luck. Teeka
