Peter Faust Dam night options ?
Hello,
Does anyone have any ideas or teqniques as to fish Peter Faust Dam after dark?
Is casting weedless soft plastics like snapbacks into shallow to mid-depth waters a good option?
What about casting into tree lined areas at low visibility?
All tips are welcome.
Thanks,

Re: Peter Faust Dam night options ?
G-day CY, Just came home from P-Faust today. Best advice I can give is fish the shallower water after dark. All of our fish came out of water less then 3mtrs deep. Not sure on the soft plastics as we didnt try them this time. Casting into the tree line worked for us. B52s were ok but we found anyone that was getting on to a few fish were using smaller lures around 8cm. Dont ask what colour as everyone will tell you some thing different. We just stuck with dark top silver bottom. Hope ya get a few.

What time of day did you prefer?
(Morning or Afternoon/Night)
Which time of day worked best for your trip?

Re: Peter Faust Dam night options ?
Have not fished Faust at night for a while.... but was up there flicking lures in the Faust Forest #this time last year and we did OK. Just found a good looking spot near some weeds or trees with a bit of room to play a fish. Just played the waiting game after the sun went down... wait for the Barra to come to us. The big Barra that we were seeing on the sounder during the day would come up and cruise the shallow water at some stage at night. We had a ball just blind casting hard body lures of all sorts.... colour did not seem to mater much.... white, brown, gold, metallic, all worked. The bites came in waves of various times but we usually called it quits around 9 pm. Also fished it in October with the same results.... most people were trolling the main basin at night but we went for the casting option... mind you ... ya still need to have patience and some nights were a bit quiet and other night were madness with up to 20 hook ups and 10 fish landed in a session....
Atached is an average Barra from last September.
PS ... day time was ok some times with some good bites... but not as good as nights.
