Looking for some Barra
My wife is in a wheelchair and i have done up a 14ft boat that has been fix up so she can get in and out off the boat I have taken her up to proserpine dam where she got her first barra now all she wonts is to get more. I would like to know off any where near the Gold Coast that i could take her to just remember she in a wheelchair and some sand on the boat ramp is a no no for her chair

mate this time of year is really good at monduran,it would be a five hour drive for you but the facilities are great good ramp for the wheelchair,also the bli bli barra farm is a great day out plenty of fish to catch in about five different dams,you can even keep some for a price.good luck

Yes thank you we are looking at booking into a cabin up there in November some time. As we been told that it is the best.

Not sure on their locations, but there are ponds that you can fish for barra along the coastline at regular intervals as mentioned above. Monduran has lots of nice sized and manageable barra, a bit more protected than Awoonga I think. Awoonga has some calm and some rougher water at times. Awoonga has great fishing like Monduran. Concrete ramps at many lakes, all could be cleaned with a broom for the good lady's entry/exit. etc I do know Awoonga is very clean on the ramp, just gravel sized pieces scatterred on the ramp that can be easily swept clear. I'm sure that the countless peolpe that utilise this ramp would be only willing to push a broom for 2 mins. I certainly would!

OK thank you as for the ramps a little bit off sand or gravel is good as it is these things that stop her from slipping it just when there is to much sand she can't use the ramps i have been see putting sand and fine gravelk on ramps for her to use and the other boating people have said it was a good idea even for them to do as it stops you slipping on a slippy ramp. Thank you for you help.
