The past couple of days has seen some nice Barra picked up. I had taken the family up for a Baraby and a spot of Fishing on Sunday. The Barby was pushed back a bit as no matter where we put a lure there seemed to be a Barra waiting.
Today it was even better , the big guns came out to play and we had sacrificed some lures to the Barra gods of the meter plus range.
As quick as we could Rerig we were busted up , while in the background a couple of Barra were jumping to shake our already stolen lures.
All this action came from a spot I have driven past hundreds of times and never thought twice about it, it looks like a sparce landscape about 100 meters round.
Now the bigger ones are out lets hope we see more.
Warrior,
Weve been hitting a lot of spots up towards the top of the dam for most of our fish , around J to F , try working the right hand side bays on the way up. Due to the size of the place there are plenty of little pockets that you will find Barra in.And there would not be enough room here to put the spots we fish in as every day is different.
The past couple of days and today included we have been luckier than most with nailing Barra everywhere we go , the main trick is just dont give up and try any spot that looks like it will hold Barra.
Warrior , White Rock and surrounding areas has been flogged by a minimum 400 Boats in the past couple of weeks and anywhere close to the campgrounds. This is why I go exploring and always seem to find a spot to myself for the day and I might see 1 boat all day as they shoot past.
I go about another 10Km up further{ minimum} some days but it is up to you , make sure you have a GPS and plenty of Fuel and just start looking in the bays and dropoffs.
Brett
nice guys i am heading up there for the comp in the next couple of weeks and then i am heading up there again a couple of weeks after that i was just wondering what is the biggest barra that anyone has pulled out over the last couple of weeks and also what lures are you using to catch the barra
Matt,
Today there was a metre Barra being cleaned , I nailed one 2 days ago just on the 1300 mark but they have been getting quiet again and we have gone from 17 a day to about 5.
My personal favourites are Pristines Beetle Green and a Chrome with Pink Head and also the Glow in the dark, these lures have been cleaning up for us lately. To contact Pristine Lures , Call Adam or Christine on 41532108 or 0428543486
