    Sunset was nice

Put in at about 1600 (4pm for you other people). Headed around to Dude Ranch and was just getting settled in for a fish with Pash 67 when things went to S%^t.

A wayward cast (only about 2" off) seen my lure stuck in a small tree branch. As I edged closer and tried to release the lure I must have disturbed an unseen Wasps nest, ....F*%#ing Wasps everywhere !

My 8 year old son was stung on the side of the head. The rod was initially left swinging in the tree as a snappy retreat was in order. The rod was recovered, but the lure remained in the offending tree.

Pash 67 in full protective gear (Work uniform) retrieved the lure after some effort. It was decided to get my son home ASAP as I was unsure if he would have any allergic reactions to the sting as his mother does.

Thanks for the assistance Adrian, and we'll try that sunset fish thing again soon.

Despite the drama's it was an awsome sunset and backdrop on the trip back.

No problems DNO. I just wanted to check out the lure you were using. Hope young Nathan is allright.

Another point to mention to people is the trees. While out there a few birds landed on a branch which then came crashing down into the water. It would not have been much fun under that one. They don't call dead branches in trees "widow makers" for nothing! So when you are out on the dam please be aware of what is above you when casting in the sticks.

Don't forget the aerogard & "sting goes" & ave a good weekend!

    Adrian
