    Maroon Trip

    Hello fellow ausfishers,
Have finally managed a week off this week and hope to get the boat up to Maroon on Thursday. Just wondering of any recent reports. With this warm weather we have had there should be some surface action. Any one willing to part with a couple of good popper brands that should work up there?
    Cheers

We were up there on Sunday when it was blowing it's butt off big time. We found a lot of fish in the bay just to the right of the boat ramp. If you head out from that bay and then just around the corner to the right (heading towards the timber), you'll find a couple of old fallen trees in a bit of a gully up on the bank. head out to around 23ft and you'll find mega loads of bass schooling in that area in around 16ft down. We threw around T.D. Vibrations and Jackalls. Spinnerbaits didn't work for us. The cold wind made for very uncomfortable fishing.

Hi Seahunter, Ss & Elephrez are right on the money.

I got a 41cm bass on a Berkley Frenzy popper at dusk a couple of weeks ago.

Careful motoring around in the dam - there's barely submerged very hard stuff in there >

Thanks for the replies, I'll probabaly hit the water at day break so the poppers should produce. Don't like the sound of the hard stuff but, the yammie has already had the skeg repaired once (2004 model!) slow and steady
    Cheers
