    Lake Monduran

    Hi All,

I was wondering what the level is like up there at Monduran, and if any one has had any success on soft plastics for the barra up there. Any info would be great.

    Thanks

Monduran has been running at about 55% but we have had some rain in the catchment area approx 4" till today but I see there is more rain there at the moment..

jas,we fished soft plastics one arvo a couple of months ago ,we used white 5 inch assasins unweighted, throwing them well into the lantarna ,letting them sink in amongst it then twitching them back out,we had follows but no hook ups,.the guide on the dam has had great sucess with them, the hooks we use are the large gape kind that we can hide the point in the plastic as to stop it from snagging up on the way back out.

    Re: Lake Monduran

    Jas,
I have tried a few hundred thousand times to raise Monduran Barra on all types of Soft Plastics.
The one that was given to me recently was a 4 inch Storm Suspending Shad with a Rattle.
I thought I might as well give it a go like everything else. 1st cast nothing, 2nd cast Barra , 3rd cast Barra and 4th cast Barra, Plastic Gooonne.
With only 1 left and unable to get some up for a couple of weeks I only use the Spare one when the fishing is tough.
I had a shot with it beside a log and a Barra rolled over the log for it, so I quickly ripped it away so I would not lose this one so I can keep having a laugh with it.
    Hope this helps.
    Brett.
As at the 3 rd of OCT the dam was around 44% but with the rain has risen very slightly and brought the water temps down which slowed down some great Barra sessions.

    Thanks Guys,

Good to see some rain getting in there, I did try the jerk bait type last time I was there but with no success so I will get some 4-5" shads this time and give them a go as well.

    Cheers,

If you look at the 128km Gladstone Radar it shows Lake Monduran on the chart
