    Peter Faust Dam restrictions

Does anyone know anything about the new restrictions on Peter Faust. Heard comment at MELBOURNE Fishing Show.
What is the situation currently and when does the new regulations start if any?

    Re: Peter Faust Dam restrictions

    G'day guys,
There was talk of making a "no boating zone" at the start of the river to keep people away from the main mimosa outbreak. Apparently that has been knocked on the head for now and instead a 20m restirction zone will be enforced...ie cannot go within 20m of the bank! Have heard that fines will be issued to people found inside this zone!!

    Re: Peter Faust Dam restrictions

This Quote is from Simon Goldsmith....Guys,

I've recently got of the phone to Jason Williams from Sunwater regarding the Mimosa Pigra weed and the exclusion area apparently in place on the dam.

His offical statement at present is that no exclusion is in place on the dam. He did however say that one may be introduced if the dispersal of the weed continues and users of the dam fail to comply with the requirements to minimise it's spread.

So at present there is no exlusion zone, but there may be the chance of its' introduction in the future if Sunwater believes it's required.

Will keep you posted on any further information as it comes to hand and in the lead-up to the Daiwa BARRA Tour.

    Cheers

    Simon

    Re: Peter Faust Dam restrictions

Rito seem that there is a problem with the Mimosa and I think that it would be in the best interest of all anglers and users of the Dam to adhere to the restriction. If you have seen what it can do in other areas, you would certainly listen to their concerns.
Will be fishing up there with Lindsay in April over a couple of days and was enquiring to see what was happening. Have been recommended to use Lindsay by a few of the mates who have fished with him before.
    Thanks for information
