    Hinze dam kayak..??

    Hey guys ...looking at trying hinze dam for the 1st time and after a little bit of advice....will be fishing from a kayak...is it necessary to have a sounder there..??also are good snags weed beds etc in distance from the ramp for a kayak fisher...?? any hel appreciated...

    Hi masterdusky,

    If you don't have a sounder I find the points are a good start. Start in shallow and more deeper and deeper until you get a hit. Straight plastics on 3/8oz are the go as well as jackalls in hard and soft body.

        Al,

        if you put in at the dam wall of Hinze,.

        There is a west and east ramp, put in at the west ramp and just head up the western arm hugging the bank. FOr this section you will not need a sounder and Hinze is a great place that most of the times you can catch a fish off the banks. you will not get into to much trouble if you use 3/8 - 1/2 ounce spinnerbait or a reaction bait off the bank in the early morning. Get out and have fun.
