hey hey, any of you been fishing Bjelke lately? I haven't been able to make it out there for a fish for a while with work commitments so im keen to hear about how it is fishing. Any info on spots, lures, technique's would be muchly appriciated.
To any one who's going out there for the fish that wknd i'll see you there, i'll be in a little tinny with a 15hp White Johnson. Feel free to pull up for a chat.
thanks Thomas. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Re: Bjelke Golden Lure
I went a few weeks ago now, probably ended up with about 45 bass for two days effort, mostly all rats.
I am going to the goden lure as well.

Re: Bjelke Golden Lure
Herby
That was on trolled lures, caught a few Bass on every colour blitz baga available and a few on small fyshee somersets and small stump jumpers. Didn't catch too many during the following couple of days at Boondooma, only a few on Smak spinner baits thats all.
Cheers

Re: Bjelke Golden Lure
Anyone who wants to have a great time and catch a heap of bass should head up to BP for the comp. The bass have been really turning it on of late. Have been getting 20+ in an hour with little trouble over the last few weeks. Lots of small fish with a few bigger specimens to 49cm thrown in as well. Most fish have been coming from shallow water next to the deep channels. Plastics spinnerbaits and jackalls have all been working. I usually only cast and retrieve but the trollers have been doing OK as well. Most of my time out there is during the middle of the day also so early and late in the day may be a better option also.
Good luck to all those that make the effort to fish the comp. You won't be dissapointed.

Re: Bjelke Golden Lure
How deep can one really troll a jackall? Or were they mainly used on downriggers?

11-12 foot easily, 14 foot or so at a pinch.

ditto to wat smithy said. We'd hit bottom in bout 12ish foot. Thats at a cast and a half behind the boat.

Re: Bjelke Golden Lure
Hitting the bottom with jackells thats a scarey thought. 105 fish over those two days is an awesome effort, that dam must be really fireing. Can't wait until exams are over and I get to see how these Jackels really go.

yeah for sure, its the best ive seen the dam going for a while now hey. I rekon fishing jackall's on the 4lb line was just as scarey! [smiley=wreck.gif] When do all your exam's finish? hope the dams are still firing then.

Re: Bjelke Golden Lure
Finish in about a week, I usually go to Baroon Pocket, its a good dam and isn't over fished. Plenty of Bass around. Usually have used spinnerbaits and sliders but have yet to give any sort of lipless crankbait a go.
