    Yamaha Great Inland Fishing Festival

    Any of you fisherpeople coming to our fishing festival?
    Lake Copeton, Inverell. First Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in December.
    Timed for the opening of cod season.
    More than $20,000 in prizes & cash up for grabs, including a $1,000 club challenge. 1st prize in the raffle is a Quintrex boat & trailer with a 25hp Yamaha motor. Lots of other prizes too.
    Copeton is a consistent producer of BIG Murray Cod, BIG Yellowbelly, as well as Catfish, Redfin & Silver Perch.
    The festival is Catch & Release only.
    Copeton has an excellent rec area with cabins , powered sites, and kiosk. Also playgrounds & water slide for the kids.
    Grab your gear & come and tangle with a Copeton Cod!!.

    sounds good, i live at tenterfield and have only fished this place once and caught plenty of catties and a heap of redfin. i heard that there isnt many redfin about like there was ,any ideas. any how ill right it up on the calender and may get there. bdowdy..

    Redfin are not as thick as they were a few years ago, think they make good cod lollies. Trolling lures and casting to the bank is good for the big fellas. A well presented shrimp or yabby seems to get the Yellas interested, you just have to find them.

    hi bassmanrd , copeton dam is about hour and a half to two hours,from tenterfield. hi peter i was talking to a bloke at a fishing shop at glen innes and he said they get a disease ( redfin) that is and they where getting scarce every where around the area. have seen some huge cod come out of copeton, the last one caught by jamie flett of mudeye lures was130lb . thats huge bye for now bdowdy..

    Yeah that Fletty is a keen fisho, puts in a lot of hours out there,has had some good results though. My best is an 89cm taken on a downunder yellow and black boomerang. Flettys lures are just as good though.
