seeking new impoundments

Am going away for a few days in March with the grandchildren and missus and would like to know of a suitable dam to take them. Don't care what type of fish on offer but would like a dam that had cabins and was family friendly and nice surroundings. I have a boat so that is not a problem. I live on the Tweed so about four hours travelling would be enough for the kids. I have been going to Glen Lyon and Bjelke Peterson dam for years now and although they are great places to go I would like to try somewhere different.

Beatle if you don't mind a little bit more of a drive , I would highly reccommend Cania Gorge near Monto. It would have to be one of the best places for Families and when we get the oportunity that is the place we stay at.
Fishing, Bushwalks, Animals, Pool and Playground.
Acommodation comes in Basics huts to small Villas to a Bunkhouse or a Tent if you desire.
Well worth the extra couple of hours drive.

Baroon has cabins - pretty pricey though, more tourist type stuff. Better off staying in nearbye Mapleton or Maleny.

You could also try Lake Boondooma near Proston.

Early booking for the cabins highly recommended.
