Fish ID - North Pine Dam

Caught about 30 small fish in my red claw trap the other night. I have no idea what they are. Some kind of perch, or maybe grunter is my guess. They aren't dissimilar to pics I've seen of banded grunter, but they have a very distinctive spot on their dorsal fin. Any guesses? All fish were very small, maybe up to about 3 or 4cms in lenght?

I'd also agree that they're juvenile tilapias.

Sometimes when using bait/redclaw traps in Samsonvale, you'll catch s@#t loads of the beggars.

Please NEVER return them to the water.

If you got a trap full of em. i know ive caught heaps of them before, could be glass perch or freshwater hardy head
