    Hinze dam do's and don'ts

Me and the missus are planning a day trip to the Hinze dam over the easter break. This will be a bit of departure for us as we have spent most of our time on saltwater. As we dont have a suitable boat for the dam we are planning to go on foot and were planning to fish either SPs or bait. Any info that Ausfish members can provide will be greatfully received. Couple of questions:
Firstly and good spots we should know about and how easy is access by foot?
Secondly what methods work best? the Missus wont try anything but bait and I'm a SP freak

    Hi Ozwald,

The only real place you can get a line in is around the boat ramps. At Hinze you can only use baits that are found in the area(worms, shrimp etc) You may pick up some nice silver perch on worms and you never know what you will get with the plastics.Have fun,

    JAS

Dunno, Dams full, and I have never fished it full! Good luck and dont forget to report back how many your missus catches (I am also a "Bait" man, so I know you wont be catching any! )

Our visit to the Hinze dam was pretty fruitless due to the grass fringe that surrounds the lake Which constantly tangled the missus' rig retired to the pub after a few fruitless hours and made a trip to Samsonvale the next day. The missus was much happier having caught a feed there.
