'bout sixty pounds takes to the air

Lake Awoonga today-The girlfriends barra heads upward and gets itself into some pretty wild positions!! How flexible are these things???
Caught deep casting about midday today. About a 26 kg fish. It inhaled the halco lure all the way; hence the reason it jumped like it did!

The 80 lb mono leader was badly worn through. Barra that inhale lures and become hooked inside the mouth will almost always jump erratically during the fight damaging the leader. Prolonged fights on jumping fish should see an angler reduce the pressure to avoid being chaffed off!!

    Sea Hunt,
Yes the lure came out easy, just two hook points stuck inside the mouth. Long nose pliers helped.
    Les,
You are right, but its workin ok as it is, and by the 80 lb stage, I'm sure we will come up with an alternate, no net type method!
Biting well at present, 6 good ones today over the metre.

Thats awsome. I'm keen to get some aerial shots of barra but we keep catching the things at night. Oh well next time, October is such a long time away though.
