Redfin

Hi guys & girls,
Just wondering the reg's on catching redfin? Are they allowed to be thrown back or are still classed as vermon like the carp. Ihavnt caught one for years but have to say one of the best eat

hi scott thunder as far as i know they are classed as vermin here in northern tablelands and they are good eating, used to be aheap around the glenn innes area and in copeton dam but have dissapeared , down were you are there be better fish than the old redfin anyhow, my brother used to live there and caught afew cod and yellas around the area. anyhow cheers bdowdy

The attached link from NSW Fisheries gives you some info on Redfin. Basically says they should not be returned to the water alive and should not be transported from one location to another.
I have to agree with you though, they are quite a reasonable table fish.
