Here is a couple of bass from our last session at Borumba. This post is for that bloke that works at B.C.F that said "There is NO bass in Borumba." He knows who he is! LOL
The place is looking a treat mate. Dont be suprised if you see me on the water there in a few months... me and the parents want to get down that way soon.

bassjunky i thinking of going to borumba and two weekends time (i live at braypark) how long does it take to borumba from warner/braypark. also i have never fished for bass actually never fished in borumba before whats the tricks. what time of day is best to fish and what are t5he best lures to use or do you use fresh bait. someone told me to use shimp from the yabba creek in front of the camp ground. do you camp there i was planning to pitch the tent so we could fish early the next morning. is it good fishing in the morning say sun up.
Its about 1 1/2 hours from the northside up there and is a very relaxed drive.
If you are chasing a few bass, try chucking a few jackalls or ecogear vt65's around the weedbeds in the main basin or the insides of corners up in the yabba and kingam arms. Throwing a few spinnerbaits (3/8 and 1/2 oz) around the deeper timber at the junction or outside bends of the arms will also see you getting stitched up a few times.
As for the toga, downsize the spinnerbaits a little (1/4 or 3/8oz) and head up the back of the arms. Cast at any overhanging trees or live bottlebrushes in the water. 3" paddletail plastics rigged with a 1/4oz head and beetlespin blade setup are also deadly for this.
I have only been there once to date and it was at the hight of sumer very very hot!! i didn't manage to get anything on lures on my first couple of outings did see plenty of toga on the surface thogh. anyways i managed to get a stack of bass to 43cms on shrimp under a float. fishing the deep banks at the back of the dam with 10foot of line under the float. also managed a toga fishing like this also!! oh yeah i did get one fish that week on a plastic unweighted but it was in yabba creek at the camp ground and was the smallest toga you eva seen!! I belive there is more shrimp in the creek than the dam too. i used bread and some good quality dry dog food. caught rainbow fish during the day and shrimp at night good luck!!
no mate. I used 2 home made ones actually. 4 entrys around a round pot. but i would think that the little rectangle ones would work better than the opera house traps, mainly for the size of the entrys and the mesh size. you don't want too big an entry otherwise they get out too easy!! also let out the fish at the end of the day because when the shrimp come into the pot they tend to kill most of the fish i had over 20 rainbows in one of mine the first day they were dropped. there were only 2 alive the next morning when i checked for the shrimp.. wasn't very happy with myself for letting this happen and made sure that they were empty b4 sundown each day...

Bass (These are also getting larger and crankier), Togas(Breeding Population) Dam is famous for these), YellowBellie(Overly big specimens available, good photos at Borumba Deer Park), Silver Pech(Have hit lures and are fat buggers), Maryriver Cod(Protected species must be replaced to water), Jewies(Don't care for these at all), If you count a few inches of water as (in Borumba) and if your good you can also catch Deer Cattle and the odd Dingo drinking from the bank,
