Fisrt time Bass fishing

Hey there all,
Im heading upto Sommerset soon for my first crack at Bass and Yellow belly. I am unforetunetly landbased and was hoping for some adv from anyone. Im taking both my hard bodies and spinners, but am also taking SP's. Do they al work or should i not bother with on of them. Also and hints for bass/yellow belly fishing?

Somerset's been fishing tough of late. Actually from most reports I've heard most of the dams are. You'll find it hard from the banks. I can't give you any advise because one I haven't had much luck myself for a while there and two I've never fished off the bank, always from a boat. Have a chat to Nancy at the Kirkleigh office, she usually knows whats going on.

Been getting Bass near the banks where there is a steep drop off (in other dams, dont fish somerset, to far away.)
