    Freshwater fishing up north

    Hey
Can anyone help me out. Im planning a fishing trip around the townsville- cairns region and just want to know any spots which are good for land based. I think i am going to try tully river and maybe tinaroo.

    Gday mate,

I am new to the area but I do know some spots, if you go to Tinaroo dont just go any time of the day, the best time is from 2-7 in the middle of the night, lure cast bombers while working your the lure and you may also want to try scorpions and classics at tinaroo.
As for the tully it has been fishing fairly slowly in the last month or two but if you give it a go try spinner baits and small surface poppers to target sooties and JPs. Other big streams in the Cairns and townsville area will hold sooties and the closer you get to cairns the more common JPs become.
    Good Luck
