The time has come !!!
Well guys the time has finally approached. Tomorrow i'm leaving to go on my fishing trip with my dad. Where starting at borumba dam where we stay for 3-5 days then shoot up to lenthalls and stay there for 3-5 and since where up there we might go to monduran dam.
I have a question about the lures i should use for the barra. Today i bought a couple of lures for barra for once and i was wondering what are the best barra lures? R the cheaper 1's ok as long as i change the spilt rings and trebles? I'm doing some last minuate lure shopping and i need some good lures that will do the job of catching me some barra. All the money i have left is $70.
All help appreiated

Scooc's, get yaself some 110mm squidgy slickrigs. Ya get 5 or 6 in a pack, so good value for money. They also seem to be the go to lure at the moment for impoundment barra. The mars lures are OK for shallow bomber/B-52 work, and they're cheap. You will need to change trebles/rings on these, if budgets an issue get the Halco rings and 6X VMC's, will give you the best bang for your buck. Owner 4X trebles and fish rings are much more expensive, but you can always change them from lure to lure. Ya should still have a few bucks left at this stage to go for some medium depth divers (3m/10ft). Classic barras, Halco scorpions, Lively Lures arafura's amongst a myriad of others are proven performers. Then grab a couple of deep divers like Crazy deeps should you revert to trolling. Changing trebles/rings on these lures is also advised. This should leave you with a bit of change to buy a couple of frothy ones.

Gavin. The F18's are great Barra lures, alongside the 120's. The F18 Manta ray is a good trolling lure, and a good casting lure for drop-offs. The standard F18 has a big colour range. Some good colours would be Mullet Gold Dazzler for the dirtier coloured water, and say the Elton or the Nitro would be good for the clearer water, though technique and depth of the lure are what you should be concerned about.
