Hi All,

I'll be in Albury / Wodonga ( near Bonegilla) for the next few weeks starting next week and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on fishing the Hume dam, some good spots to try. I'm aware of the carp problem, I'm just looking to catch as many fish as I can while I'm there.

Help ya self to the carp and redfin and trout and put the big yellas back in please

Trolling hotlips around usually with a soft plastic above it does the trick in around 5metres of water

lots of bank fishing done by anglers with worms and yabbies too.

Try Ludlow's reserve past the boathaven caravan park on the way to tallangatta

I'll give you a slightly out of date report. In 1967 we built the house located between Boathaven and Ebden Reserve. It's probably changed a bit since then, but if I stood on the front veranda and looked towards the Bethanga Bridge, off to the right at about 2 o'clock there used to be an underwater spring. Used to line up the dead trees in front of our house with the point at Ebden reserve (where the original Boat ramp was.) and troll Mud Bugs, (Orange with a silver bib) and clean up on big reddies. Dunno the water depth, 'cause we didn't have sounders then. Just new where the old fences were and kept a bit deeper out from them.
